I feel like I really need to go to CJU. I'll have to look into it further. Some folks are saying it's still better then Affiliate Summit, which is hard to imagine.

I highly recommend CJU. It's a smaller crowd (500-700), but the attendees are very knowledgeable, and just as open as the people you met at Summit. Plus you can't beat Santa Barbara in September.... sunny, warm (but not too hot), and right on the ocean. If you go I recommend staying at the host hotel. It's always nice to be close to the action.
I have my CJU space reserved and my hotel reservations. I was there last year, and I found it to be hugely informative about the affiliate business as a whole. I haven't been to the affiliate summit yet, although that's next on my list, but I was really impressed by CJU.

Hey Jeremy,
I can’t thank you enough for the helpful ebook, instructional videos, and this forum. You’ve been incredibly helpful in my business planning and understanding of the industry.
I’m just starting with affiliate ppc marketing. I don’t even have sites to show anyone yet. Would it be beneficial to attend CJU in Santa Barbara? I get the feeling that this is more for experienced affiliate marketers. Coming from NYC, I think I need to justify the cost.
Actually, I’m not a complete newbie. I’ve been involved in the online advertising and the new media industry for almost a decade. I’ve worked for DoubleClick and Operative, (you’ll hear about them when they get bought by Google in a year or so). So I do know a lot, especially Ad Operations, but this is the first time I’m striking out on my own.

The networking at an event like this is invaluable. When I attended my first CJU back in 2004 it really helped me understand the potential of affiliate marketing and gave me motivation to take my business to a higher level.

For all CJU attendees - I may plan an event for us to meet up. I'll keep you posted. This tends to be a busy conference for me, but I would enjoy meeting everyone face to face. I'll let you know more by mid-August.

Jeremy, will you be attending the CJ Performer Cocktail Party on Tuesday? This wil be my first CJU and I'm anxious to see what they do for the CJ Performer event.

Absolutely! CJ always puts on a good event for performers. Plus you'll be hanging around several other performers, which is priceless.

Hope you all are having a great time at CJU. Now that I'm able to work with CJ again (long story of international intrigue), it pains me to think of all the things I'd learn and the people I'd meet if I were there now. Unfortunately, there is no way I would have been able to make it this week. Please post your recaps and stories so the rest of the QYDJ community can share in the experience.

CJU 2007 was amazing!! It was my first time at CJU, but it definitely won't be my last. There were so many networking opportunities and I don't think I've ever been to so many cocktail parties in my life. LOL
My favorite times were when we weren't in the sessions. During these times, everyone was usually gathered in the hallways of the convention hall, or at the hotel bar and the advertisers were always more than willing to explain their business to interested affiliates.
I made more business contacts in 3 days than I've made in the 1 1/2 years I've been doing affiliate marketing. Even on the airplane on my way to the conference, I had the opportunity to meet an advertiser which I think will turn out to be a great opportunity and I was fortunate enough to share an airplane ride with Jeremy and get to know him better. That itself was worth the price of the ticket.
I would definitely recommend this conference to anyone who's looking for ways to grow their business.
See everyone at the Affiliate Summit in Las Vegas.
I agree that the networking opportunities heavily outweighted most of the seminars (as did the cocktail parties). Jeremy's Sunday session and the Loyalty 2.0 were really the only ones with any substancial content of interest. Btw, Koodos to Jeremy for putting together such an informative presentation.
But, like everyone else, I have a huge stack of business card contacts, and am full of new ideas, which I think is worth the trip itself.
