AD URL make sure you have the correct setting

I just learned a lesson on MSN and hopefully this will keep someone from making the same mistake.

In my MSN account, all of my keywords have unique URLs, so in the destination URL for my ads, I'm using the {param1}, but I didn't realize that I needed to choose Keyword destination URL from the drop down menu. I had it set on http://. Luckily, I caught it in time. I did a search for one of my terms on MSN.com and clicked on my ad. I got a page could not be found error and noticed it was putting an extra http:// in front of my URL.

Hope this helps someone.

Yeah, I ran into this same thing when I was starting on MSN. Thanks for posting it.

I wish MSN was more like Google in that if you paste the whole URL, Google will automatically correct it for you.

Yeah, that's what threw me off. In Google, if the keyword has its own URL, it ignores the one for the ad and that's what I thought when I started with MSN. I'm just glad I found out before other people started clicking on my ads. It could have been a very costly mistake but instead only cost a few bucks.
