Adword campaign about to crash and burn!

Submitted by pogo on Wed, 11/07/2007 - 07:41.
I have a dilemma! Recently launched a small Adwords campaign with a budget of $100.00 dollars. I got approx 10,000 impressions and about 100
CTRs. But NO sign ups. It was a free offer, the site looked good, good content etc, etc.
What is this telling me?? Are the keywords not dialed in tight enough?
are the ads not enticing enough ? (two ads)
It seems impossible to get 10,000 impressions, 100 clickthroughs and not get one sign up on a excellent free offer!
Other than the Internet Gods wanting to punish me, this has me stumped
Has any body been down this road before? Any suggestion how to analyze
this problem. Put a lot of work in on this site. Would hate to kiss it off!
Thanks Jack/Pogo

I think 100 clicks is not all that much. I had campaigns where I initially went 200-300 clicks without a sale, but kept tweaking and eventually made them work. Usually the keywords are too broad. Try just a small selection of 3-5 keywords with the highest implied buyer/action intent, and bid a bit more on them. Also, depending on network, sometimes tracking does not work or you do something wrong (e.g. on Azoogle i first wasted like 400 clicks before finding out i was using an incorrect jumplink format...). If all that doesn't work, maybe the offer has some problems after al. Try another.
