I'm using a Wordpress plugin that is similar called phpBay Pro. I've had some success with it. If you don't have any experience creating a web site or using Wordpress BANS might be easier.
I agree with Michael, BANS make it very easy to build a site but it;s hard to customize it. Send me a private message and I'll show you a few examples I've setup.
Wordpress is easy too and the customizing is endless. I might even know a guy who's working on a few themes related to affiliate marketing and using WP for landing pages/sale letters. :)

Yes this is the biggest hurdle, next to finding a niche, creating the website when you are not a web designer. I did try out Coffee Cup and it is a GREAT VERY easy to us web builder.
I think what I like about BANS is the built in eBay listings that auto change and update, THAT would make the site building a lot easier.

Hey, if you can figure out Coffee Cup you're way ahead of the game. I could never figure it out. (And I do know some html) It's way too non-intuitive for me. I've giving xSitePro a shot. It seems pretty easy to figure out.
I was actually thinking about doing a case study on how to enter a niche using BANS. It would most likely be a series of video posts on my blog. If anyone is interested just let me know.

Hi Jason, I would be interested in your BANS case study. I have the product but am not sure it would be a significant source of revenue due to the thousands of BANS sites already.
Alright, I guess that settles it. I will do a series of about 3 or 4 videos on how to enter a niche using BANS. I will try to get the first 2 by this weekend and post an update once it's done. I am also planning on doing an 8 part video series on how to setup and monetize a Wordpress blog.
You might note that BANS was made with the affiliate in mind and they are doing quite well selling that product (along with an affiliate program to boot).
As you grow in affiliate marketing, try to take time to survey the industry landscape. What's missing? What could be improved or help an affiliate make money faster or easier? Once you have an idea, hire someone from elance or rentacoder to design your idea into reality and then start your own affiliate program - let others promote YOUR product for a season!
with a BANS site you can add as many content pages as you want in addition to the store auction pages (which are built on eBay RSS feeds and categories). You also purchase a Wordpress plugin to add keyword targeted eBay auctions in your blog posts for as little as $37 to use on unlimited blogs. Click the title of this comment to visit my site for detailed articles and posts on BANS and eBay Wordpress plugins.
I recently bought BANS myself to see how it works. I first was confused how it works with pepperjam and EPN but its all fine now...
I have setup my BANS so far, redid the template to archieve not to look like BANS and waiting for my typo texts to finally do the content pages. All in all it is pretty easy to use and manage. If anybody needs some assictance hook me up at mm -@- webclay.ch

BANS is GREAT
I actually got BANS after all. Great builder, had some bugs but nothing too hard to fix. Very easy to use. I have sales 1 month after launch!

Excellent idea
Jason,
I too like your idea about the video study on BANS. I will be testing phpbay pro soon.
I will be sure to let you all know how that goes.

BANS - yes a video series would be great
Hi Jason,
I've always wanted to know more about BANS.
Will you be posting a link to your videos here in the forum?
Thank you for your offer.
Thinking outside the BANS box...

Aim for being the head not the tail! :)
Food for thought.

BANS Tutorial
I found a how to build a BANS tutorial online, which would save the trouble of doing it again.

I didn't go through the whole thing, but it seems to be pretty detailed.

Bans for affiliates instead of ebay
My understanding is it is used with ebay feeds. Has anyone seen actual sites where it is showing affiliate links and banners along with content/blog?
