Marketing Sherpa Landing Page Handbook - worth the money?

Submitted by mmuise on Mon, 03/17/2008 - 17:14.
I'm thinking about buying Marketing Sherpa's Landing Page Handbook 2008 - but it's $497
I know that Jeremy speaks highly about the first version of this handbook, but the price has gone up substantially since then.
Anyone bought it? Is it worth the $$?

Marketing Sherpa Landing Page Handbook - worth the money?
Too bad the price went up to $497. It was a good read at ~$200, but a $300 price increase was completely unjustified in my opinion.
It's grade-a content, but not really distinguishable from the first version. There's some new blurbs on video, case studies, etc., but again not worth the 150% jump in price.
I'll be including some new landing page stuff on the new site and ebook. If I were you I would hold off until then. No need to drop $500 - unless it's burning a hole in your pocket.

Awesome - thanks, Jeremy.

Landing page help
Hey Moe,
One place that has quite a few helpful case studies for landing page development and testing is found at http://www.marketingexperiments.com/research-topics/research_archive.htm...
Just the other day they did a free webinar on landing page development with some awesome case studies.

Not worth $500
I've just looked through the executive summary (available as a .pdf download) and, although the book looks comprehensive, I don't think it's worth $500. I think $200 would be the absolute upper limit and if it was priced at around $97, I'd buy it for sure.
one thing people need to
one thing people need to understand with this hefty price tag is that it is for marketing material.
the handbook involves case studies, stats and live examples. over 200+ pages of comprehensive split, taguchi and multivariate landing page testing.
updated with todays market... why do i know? i have it.
highly recommended for sure.
ps - ANYTHING with marketingsherpa is normally ACE with corporate level Internet marketing training.
i always keep my head out for new material from this publisher.
as a new moderator i will try my best to keep everyone posted with really good material to read and help your skill set expand and grow.
Landing Page Optimization by
Landing Page Optimization by Tim Ash is a good cheap alternative.
Great tip - thanks!
Found some great bargains for this excellent recommendation at ebay:

;)
Great value rather than cheap!
Thanks for this. Much more realistic price and with 12, 5 star reviews, obviously worth the money.
Present company excepted of course ;) there are many ebook publishers who charge exorbitant amounts for their work. It may be an educational and informative product but, at the end of the day, it's a .pdf file and costs very little to create when compared to an actual book.
Just think, if the recommended book was an ebook, can't you see it on CB for $67 or even $97?
PM me your email address,
