Linkshare Reporting Question

I have a question concerning linkshare reporting. When I run the sales and activity report I show 19 orders but $0.00 for commission. The merchants I am promoting pay commission on all goods sold, so I know it is not an issure regarding non-commission goods.

Is there typically a delay in showing the commission, possibly due to credit card processing verification?

I just started ppc advertising last Thursday so I am want to make sure my ROI is positive.

By the way, I emailed linkshare this question. But, they are always slow to respond and they usually respond with poor information.

Thanks for your help.

Merchant Reply

I received a reply directly from the merchant regarding the situation. Here it is.

Thanks for the email. There is no delay in the reporting. The reporting is updated every hour. Let me give you some more details on the sales and activity report. The column label # of Orders equal registrations and the column label # of Items equal subscriptions. Whenever a registration converts into a subscription, it will be indicated in the commission column. (Ex. If you see # of Orders = 33 and # of Items = 33, you have 33 registrations. If you see # of Orders = 33 and # of Items = 34, you have 33 registrations and 1 subscription). You will see the commissions in the commission column. The great thing about registration is their lifetime registration meaning if it registration converts to a subscription next week, next month or 6 months from now. You will receive commission. I hope this helps you, if not please contact me.

I thought I would share this in case someone else had this question. I assumed an order was an order but I guess I was wrong.

Linkshare Reporting Question

Hi Harbor4393,

This sounds like Match.com... am I right? This recent change has made it difficult to make money with their program. I have some specific dating site suggestions for you if you're interested.

If I'm wrong about this being Match.com, ignore my message. 33 orders and no sales doesn't sound like a good conversion rate. Maybe you can tell us who it is so we can know what merchant(s) to avoid.

Best,

Jeremy

You are correct

It is for Match.com and their new relationship site Chemistry.com. It is frusturating because I thought I was getting sales, now I have to reevaluate my ppc campaign. I would love to hear your suggestions.

Thanks,

Jeff

Not sure how I missed this last post - I just re-discovered it :?

I don't recommend promoting Match or Chemisty. My conversion rate on these two sites is well below normal.

If you're going to do online dating I recommend:

Yahoo Personals
eHarmony
Great Expectations
Perfect Match

Best,

Jeremy
