Is Pepperjam any Good

Sam's picture

My ebay revenue plummeted after the move to epn. The basic idea ebay went out of CJ was that they wanted to do it in-house. Then ebay showed up in Pepperjam within a month. Very confusing. Its a fact than epn has tracking issues. Not sure if joing ebay through pepperjam will be any better, Peppejam afterall is a very new network.

Though I am not a member of Pepperjam yet, it doesn't seem to have a lot of goodwill among affiliates, if you read the posts about pepperjam in the abestweb forum. Also there seems to be a conflict of interest as pepperjam is itself a super affiliate and now they have created their own affiliate network. In effect they will competing with the affiliates in their network.

Does anybody in this forum have any experience, good or bad, with Pepperjam.

Couple of interesting points

Couple of interesting points to ponder here....

I don't use tinyurl anymore as I found out they are a competing affiliate and there have been serious questions raised (see amazon boards and abestweb) as to the overiding of cookies when using tinyurl to redirect affiliate links. (Newbies: In other words - tinyurl may directly or indirectly steal your commission; beware) Instead, I create blank webpages on a website using the meta refresh tag to instantly redirect through my own short url - see code: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meta_refresh

Now as for ebay and pepperjam...

Ebay is driving me insane over the last few months. First with the guest registration feature which creates leaks in their ACRU incentive and now with the serious epn tracking issues - I would seriously avoid this program until they are back to where they use to be as far as tracking or you are in for a huge head ache. Not to be dismissed - just give them time to rebound. You will hear mixed opinions on this but just go to their own discussion board and abestweb and weigh the evidence.

Also note that pepperjam is not using their tracking system for the ebay program - as of this writing - ebay runs soley on EPN tracking which kind of defeats the third-party reason why we affiliate marketers all felt comfortable marketing other peoples products in the first place. lol.

As far as pepperjam...

I haven't joined their program yet but I know the CEO is respected by many in the industry. Before being quick to judge one way or another - let us all consider that we might one day very well become super affiliates who recognize the fact that starting our own affiliate network could be a very lucrative additional revenue stream. Then what would everyone say about us?

If pepperjam pays out to their affiliates and also earns affiliate revenue on top of merchant contracts - well I see the potential conflicts but that's just smart business -"if" they maintain good ethical integrity and genuine goodwill - something incidentally (cough) I believe the owner of this forum could do very well at in the future - especially given all the contacts here. ;)
