There used to be an option where I was able to set up the forum so that i can see all the latest posts since my last visit. Does anyone know where that option exists and how I can set it up? I appreciate your responses

Only option I am currently aware of is the "Aggressive notification of new messages". It shows status messages on every page until new messages are read. Even on the forum index you will see how many new posts there are within each forum topic.
You have to make sure that "Aggressive notification of new messages" is clicked under My Account/Edit. I hope that helps :)
Are you referring to the "Track" tab?

Select My Account (on the left) and select the "Track" tab.

I don't think that option is available. I know what you're saying though, I used to like that feature as well.

I wanted to highlight a little known feature of this forum. At the bottom of each topic/category is an RSS button where you can subscribe to the individual forums with your favorite RSS reader.
I need to give the forum a bit of a face lift to make things a bit more intuitive. After Black Ink I'll probably do a full usability study of QYDJ and implement more of my own advice :)
I didn't even notice that
I didn't even notice that icon there! LoL
Thanks for the heads up...

Use Yahoo pipes for tracking forum
If you setup a feed for each of the popular categories, you can cover a lot of what's happening with the community. I was going to introduce how to combine a bunch of these in 1 rss feed via Yahoo pipes if anyone is interested.
Nice screen capture video on how to setup Yahoo pipes
