Cj & Hosting

billk89's picture

Hi I hear cj is one of the best networks so ive got a few Hosting companys from there network to promote , are they any other networks with better hosting or stick with CJ?

Also what could I do to improve conversions on the site? The site is affordableaspnetwebhosting.com
I thought affordable asp.net web hosting was a good phrase I got it from wordtracker and overture but when ran in adwords no traffic at all and now its up number one in SEO lol ..... to bad there was no traffic, But i seen in ad words cheap asp.net hosting was good, Use adwords as a keyword tool seems best.
Got lucky to and the cheapaspnethosting.com was free so i got it.

I have about 1 g to blast PPC at it , but cant tell i get the web site updated, got to remove the 800 number off it 2.
Any advice on this were to start we be great

Thanks again for all your help

A suggestion

danlifeisfun's picture

Bill,

affordableaspnetwebhosting.com is a very long domain name. Not only is it hard to pick out the key words in the name but I think it would be a hard name for someone to remember or type.

I would suggest a shorter domain name. Go to www.domainsbot.com and try a couple different key word combinations and see what you can find.

And read Quit Your Day Job from cover to cover before you start your PPC campaign.

Good Luck.

Dan

Bill if you go with it,

Bill if you go with it, maybe type it something like this:

AffordableASPnetWebhosting.com

Although it may still be tough to read....Derrick.

Finding a good hosting

Jeremy Palmer's picture

Finding a good hosting domain is tough. I have about a dozen names and only two are decent. The web hosting category is challenging. Money can be made, but it can also be lost very fast if you don't know what you're doing. Start slow and measure/track everything. Find out what converts quickly and adjust your campaigns accordingly. Expect to spend between $1 - $5 /click on keywords with any volume.

***Hint the best hosts on CJ are the ones with the 5 bar rating. Don't be fooled by EPC - it can easily be inflated/deflated. You may also consider promoting some of the 4 bar hosts, but stay away from 3 bar and lower. IMPORTANT - this advice doesn't apply to every category in CJ. I've promoted many 3 bar merchants with success in other categories.

I recommend 99designs.com. This ensures you get the best design. You set the pricing, however, keep in mind you'll attract more talent with a competitive payout.

I like #2 and #4 out of the group. Clear, direct, and to the point. Your optimizing for clicks on ppc landing pages - you want as few distractions as possible.

#4

billk89's picture

yea got #4 . going to fix the hosting copanys there now

godaddy has some nice hostinig
109 a payout ,

the traffic

billk89's picture

update to landing page, have a look here here cheapaspnethosting.com, I still ahve to fill in the links and hook up the blog and fourm , then review pages.
but there anything els i should have on the page beside the policys and stuff?

also what is the hosting traffic like, can the right type of traffic convert or should i have an op in list?

finaly when i go to set up the adwords, should i just bid on one phrase with phrase match for "asp.net hostiing" and and lose some money at frist but track all the keywords that convert on my hosting keyword tracker.

or setup small asp key word groups?

Thanks again

Landing page

Gigglesoup's picture

Okay, this is from a newbie's perspective (experienced in Adsense sites, but just learning affiliate websites with BlackInkProject), but my first thought about your landing page is that the content in the GoDaddy box has nothing to do with hosting, but, rather, the fact that they are the leading seller of domain names. The other two hosting companies have info on actual hosting.

I do like the design you chose, but I do have to scroll over to see the entire page. Just my two cents!

If it was strictly meant to

Anonymous's picture

If it was strictly meant to be a landing page (though now its your home page), I think the fact that you have to scroll down to get the full msg can't be good. The 'Call To Action' links with the main message shd be above the fold. The big graphics (the servers line up) at the top of the page pushes everything below the fold. The only links above the fold are the site navigational links. I would hide them on a landing page.

In addition to the above

In addition to the above comment, I think #3, #1 from the design contest would ve been better landing pages.
