Quality content for quality backlinks - will it work?

Hi,

I have an idea in mind for getting quality inbound links to my site, so I wonder if any of you already tried that - it will be interesting to hear your comments...

In order to improve my Google ranking why don't I offer related high-ranked sites a free, fresh and original article/content of say 300-500 words which is related both to their site and to my site, in return I'll earn a backlink with any anchor text I choose...

This way I believe everyone wins:

- Hosting site earns free relevant and quality content rather than just another "link partner"
- Google would consider it as "natural" content.
- No risk for both myself and the hosting site of being spotted by Google for link buying/selling.
- No extra cost to me…
- I earn a "natural" uni-directional and quality inbound link to my site.

I know this is the same idea as article directories, but I believe Google already recognizes and scores backlinks from these directories accordingly.

Did anyone already try that or is it just a waste of time...?

Thanks,

Yaron.

Hi Yaron: I've never tried

Hi Yaron:

I've never tried it. I think the hard part would be to convince the "high rank" site to publish it, unless your site is on par with theirs.

Like anything else, it may be worth a shot. If the content is exceptional, they may just have interest.

Anyone else?

Derrick.

Article submitting

Hey Yaron, no reason why this wouldn't work in principle, however Derrick is right, you'll have some work to do convincing some folks to publish your content.

This is similar to the idea of guest blogging on a more established site, which can also be a way to increase your exposure, but again you need to convince someone you're "worthy" of doing the job.

Between that and the amount of effort involved in writing all those articles, could be a lot of work.

Have you written some articles and submitted them to the major article publishing sites like ezine or goarticles and / or used the content on something like squidoo?

Content for Inbounds

ylavi68's picture

Hey Kerry,

What's up? did you get my email...?

Sure I submit articles on eZine.com and other directories - it is no problem for me to quickly generate a unique good quality article. (I get assisted by "Instant Article Wizard" which makes it easier on me to generate quality articles).

Among the alternatives of paying $50-$100 for an inbound link or exchanging links with low Google score, I would prefer 'content for inbounds', it is easier for me as long as the other side cooperates...

I guess I'll have to try that and see how webmasters react.

Cheers,

Yaron.

Hi Yaron, yes it's called

Hi Yaron, yes it's called guest blogging or a guest writer. It's very popular in the blogging world and yes it's customary to drop a link of yours on there as well as link internally on the blog your posting. I usually post on a few bigger celeb/fashion blogs as Erin as my persona and link occasionally back to a related post on my sites.

Identify the bigger sites in your niche and then email them offering a quality post and ask for the opportunity to provide a service for them. You'll be surprised at how many other webmasters love the idea.
