Floating page: Does it help for my Google Ranking?

Hi,

One of Google's indications for a quality site is for how long would the visitor stay there until he abandons. As an affiliate your goal is to make the visitor interested with what you have to offer and finally click on your affiliate link; however from the other hand you want him to spend some time on your site as well.

The ideal is that you have a quality content that eventually ends up by clicking your affiliate link, another possible solution may be by using a "floating" page, I mean when the user clicks on the affiliate link a new page is opened directing him to the merchant’s site, however my site is still left open in the background...

What do you think - does it counts as if he is still visiting my site while in fact at the same time he is watching the merchant's site?

Cheers,

Yaron.
