Acceptable Signatures

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to take a minute and discuss signatures in profiles. I've enabled signatures in the board so that people can get to know you better.

Recently there have been a lot of signatures that would be considered commercial and/or affiliate links. The moderators and I have had a hard time distinguishing what is acceptable and what's not. As you can imagine there is a lot of gray area here.

I decided to come up with a policy that is a little more clear on the subject.

Acceptable Signatures:
Links to your social networking profile(s) - e.g. Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Pownce, YouTube, etc. I don't recommend listing all of you social networking profiles in your signature, just stick with the one(s) that you use most.

Unacceptable Signatures:
Everything else ;)

If you have a personal or commercial site you want to share with the community, I recommend listing it in your profile rather than your signature.
