I fully understand what was being said in todays webinar, but I have to learn how to implement it on the net. Doing well on Craigslist, or in the local newspaper may not translate into being a success at affiliate marketing. But, I fully intend to try and transfer what I have learned, on a regional basis, into affiliate marketing.
Todays webinar seemed a little overwhelming but if we just take one step at a time we can make it work. You're right about local verses the internet. There is a difference. It's just a matter of learning to correctly use the resources Jeremy talked about today.
So for me it's rereading that section of HPAM and start putting it into action. Along with listening to the recording when it is released. Probably more then once. :D

Hi Chuck,
You're so right. Gotta take it one step at a time. And listen to the recordings as often as needed. Thanks for keeping me focused on the tasks at hand. :)
It was a lot of information. The identify your customer tools were excellent. I think I got most of that down as he was talking about it. (he had touched on some of these points earlier) The part I am going to have to study up a bit on is the keyword research.
"Start wide then go deep" hmmmmm....
I do remember reading in HPAM about the keyword buying cycle. That the BEST performing keywords were the ones that been developed from the "browser" to the "compare" to the "ready to buy". Getting into the head of someone going through that process and them building your campaigns around the keywords that the "ready to buy" person is using...
That is some gold info right there! Takes work to find, but knowing where and how to look - great info.
I just posted somewhere else in the forum that I will be going back over each weeks webinars in the week between each session as my homework!
I hear what you're saying about going back over the webinars. I'll probably ruin the files playing them so many times :D
I think I have a handle on the keyword part. Check out all the keywords you come up with in your niche then narrow your focus into drilling for the buy keywords under each keyword group.
I'm really getting into the sessions. Getting so much out of them.
Amit Mehta is continuing to be a great source of good PPC information. By going wide I can explore many more possible sub-niches that might be profit producers. Then once the profitable ones are found - those are the ones to go deep with.

I understand what you are saying, about rereading the book, and listening to the recording. I have read the book, more than once. I learn something new, every time. I know that I can't transfer the product that I sell locally, to the internet (riding mowers. Can't send them cross country very easily.), but there are undoubtedly countless products that people want, and need every day. Then you have to find the keywords that pull them to your landing page. And hope that you've done your homework, when creating that page.

There are numerous ways to earn an income, from home. I have built, and sold, upgraded, and sold, and repaired and sold desktops, from the local newspaper. College students need them every Fall, and Spring semester. I have done the same with cars, riding mowers, and even vcr's way back when. I learned about computer repair through a home study course, that included a couple of videos. But, I had already taken computers in college. What I'm trying to say is, that it helps to be flexible, in your thinking. Have faith, in yourself, and your abilities, but do your utmost to learn, to the nth degree. It can only bring in income. The more you learn, the more you earn.

We've covered a lot of ground in a short amount of time. I'll make sure that I address some of the open questions in the summary guides. Keep the feedback coming. Let me know what makes sense and what's not clear.
Don't be afraid to ask questions. I might not be able to get to it right away, but I'll get to it ;)
I missed the Q and A session as I had an appointment. When I listened to the recording, you mentioned a few of the laptops you would sell. Why are you not selling Toshiba and Gateway too which have good reputations with the consumer. Is this something we should look at with merchants in the niches we decide to market such as the commission the pay out or the service to affiliates from the merchant? And the product you picked, laptops has a lot of competion off line too....so how do you compete with BestBuy, Circuit City, Office Max, Comp USA, etc and their deals in the Sunday ad circulars in major newspapers around the US? I am sure this affects a lot of product lines that are not "online only" type of products.

Jack, Have You Read This Yet?
Hi Jack,
I think I really began to appreciate the significance of going wide, then deep, after reading Amit's Keyword Research: Go Deep or Going Wide First. http://www.superaffiliatemindset.com/keyword-research-go-deep-or-going-w.... Then reread the keyword section in HPAM.
I'd love to know what you think. Thanks!
