Is selling ringtones still hot?

I was just reading about a new company (xingtone) that's going to allow people to convert their digital music into ringtones for free.
However, all the superaffiliates seem to have made the bulk of their money selling ringtones. Is this still a profitable niche product?

I haven't googled ringtones in a long time. I made
the mistake of doing that and somehow ended up
being charged for ringtones. Took months to get
it off my bill.
The good thing I did find in my search was Mobicious.com
It allows you to create your own ringtones - for FREE. Are you paasionate
about selling ringtones? if yes, do some more checking.

I think checking Better
I think checking Better Business Bureau files and Ripoffreport.com would be a good idea before promoting businesses in this niche - I've been ripped off myself by one ringtone company. You don't want to ruin your reputation over ringtones that's for sure.
