Building A Review Site

Hey Everyone,

I've been reading "High Performance Affiliate Marketing" and I've decided to launch my own review content site that I will promote via PPC and have affiliate links strategically embedded throughout the site. I've found a niche I'm interested in, bought the domain, started designing the website itself and done initial keyword research. I plan to write unique reviews of a number of products and then outsource additional writing work. Does this all sound correct and like a good idea?

My question regarding the PPC aspect...with a site like this, do I need landing pages? Or do I just push the user to the individual product review pages where they will read about the product and be able to click a buy link/button, etc.? Is it bad to have the entire site navigation on these pages?

Just trying to wrap my head around this whole concept as I'm really excited about this and think it has a real chance at succeeding.

Thanks

After doing some more

After doing some more reading....would it be better to make a single product review page with a privacy, t&c, and contact link and try it out to test the niche before I do the full-blown content site with all the bells and whistles?

Having more than one product will provide your customers with choices and will give you more creditability.

It will also provide you with more merchants to earn a commission from.

Make sure you actually test drive a couple of the products you are reviewing so you can provide your customers with a creditable review.

Just my two cents.

Check out TopTenReviews.com for an example of what to do right! Their revenues in 2006 were $17 million! Not bad for someone who started the website in his basement 3 years earlier...

Thanks for the input so

Thanks for the input so far....I'm thinking about showing off my pages to see if I am on the right track, but I just don't know if it's be a good idea to share with the entire community or not.

If either of you or Jeremy are willing to give them a look, let me know.

Thanks

A very comprehensive site

A very comprehensive site.

I can only imagine how labor intensive it is to manage a site of this size. But $17 Million is impressive.

Would love to know the Net $$ figures.

One heck of a site

That is one heck of a site! Isn't this totally opposite of the one niche concept. Maybe that have keywords that direct you to each review page.
