I was thinking about signing up for the seomoz.com pro membership or the seobook.com community. Has anyone here signed up for either and if so, what are your thoughts on the content information provided?

I prefer the free stuff

In my experience, there is so much free information and tools that to spend the kind of money that SEOmoz asks may not be the best idea. Both Moz and Book have plenty of free information and anything else you may need can be found FREE elsewhere.

Here is a great link to a blog from Courtney Tuttle, and his site Court's Internet Marketing School, who posts regularly on IM and SEO, probably the most straight forward, simple, information rich content that is completely FREE.

Thanks for the links. Courtney Tuttle has a fantastic blog and I have added the blog to my favorites. Also, the SEO Cheat Sheet is an excellent resource for beginners.

I think that SeoMoz.com and SeoBook.com are the two best resources on the web for SEO training. I believe they offer month-to-month (and possibly trial) offers. If you're really serious about learning SEO, and have the budget you might want to try it out.

The thing I like most about their offers is that they are low risk. It's not like buying a $500 course from some guru - these guys are the real deal, and their price point is very reasonable for the value.
