QYDJ forum ideas..

I started thinking about how, with PhPBB, you can have different user titles beside the posters name.
I thought that it might be useful to have a system like that here in the future. Something like "wannabe affiliate" up to Jeremy and Amit's title "super affiliate". I guess that these titles would have to be set by mods, by the users themselves in their account settings(this would require some honesty by the user) or by setting the title based on a survey like we had to fill out for the Black Ink Project. (this also would require honesty on the users part)
I think it might be beneficial to know what kind of experience the person has who is answering your post. Like me, I'm trying to answer posts to do my "pay it forward" as well as to be helpful. However, I'm a brand new affiliate and my answers are mostly based on what I have read in HPAM, learned in the BIP so far, or learned from other places. (SEO) So I don't think my opinions should hold the same weight as someone who is making even $500 a month.
Just a thought and I know your plate is full right now with the BIP on top of your regular business Jeremy, so like I said, maybe a consideration for the future.

I might be wrong be I think
I might be wrong be I think such titles are based on the number of posts you make or reply to rather than being set by the user or moderator.
Most forum modules rank
Most forum modules rank users by the number of posts. Jeremy is actually looking at implementing a rating system on the comments. This would be similar to Yahoo Answers and I think would be the best solution all around. Just because someone spends a lot of time on the forums posting questions and answers doesn't mean they give out good advice. It would be very difficult to rank someone because there are many different ways to measure success.

Yea number of posts or some
Yea number of posts or some other forums give you a rank based upon what you can show is your monthly income. It's basically a status or cask system and is just for fun. I wouldn't want to worry people about what class they're in but maybe something you can give yourself?
Good feature idea though.

user rank
Why spending much time implementing stuff like that? Just use a pro version like vbulletin where you can have user ranks based on postings AND custom user titles given by the admin/moderators (or even by the user himself). I am using this software quite some years now and never felt to change to something other software....
The problem is...
Jeremy, mentioned this in a recent webinar. He wants the site to have the same look, navigation, etc throughout. This is one big reason to use a CMS such as Drupal.. Even though we are posting in the forums right now, it looks and acts like the rest of the site.
