using Drupal or combination of custom pages and Drupal

lynntay's picture

this is for Jeremy... I couldn't stay for the questions/answers portion of the webinar last night so it may have been covered there... if so... I'm sorry. I believe you said you use Drupal. Do you strictly use Drupal for the majority of your sites or do you use a combination of Drupal and custom web pages, or just custom web pages without Drupal where appropriate? If you do use a combination, is Drupal pretty good at working those custom designed pages in? I am currently using Wordpress, and I have not tried it with Wordpress yet, but I suspect it isn't going to be painless.

again, thanks for all great info, and the help! You are truly inspiring us forward!

Cheers!
Lynn

Jeremy mentioned that Drupal is harder to learn but that it is more flexible. Wordpress can be used, as it is easy to learn, for sites that do not have the intention to become HUGE.

I only recently started using Drupal, but I'm pretty happy with it. It's not as easy as WordPress to customize, and there aren't quite as many people supporting it, but the community is growing pretty fast.

Before I started using Drupal I had created each site from scratch - using common snippets, scripts, and code libraries, but nothing as sophisticated as a prime time CMS. This gave me a lot of flexibility with each site, but it felt like I was reinventing the wheel every time I launched a new project.
