Quit My Day Job COLD TURKEY!

JasperP's picture

Well I quit my day job on March 15, 2008 when I wasn't quite ready.. I've been ACTIVELY doing affiliate marketing since August, 2007 and I've only been making a few hundred dollars a month from my efforts.

I got into a huge argument with my supervisor at the time so I said "screw it!!"

So I FIRED my boss and went solo... I figured out a game plan that I would involve article marketing and blogs/lenses to reduce my expenses..

Fast forward two months, I ended up expanding a hot niche from a squidoo lens I made into a web site with PPC traffic from Adwords, YSM, and MSN.

The end result: I just cashed a ~$3200 paycheck from Clickbank! My expenses were around $800-900 so it was pretty sweet.

My focus now is to build enough capital so that I can spend more on advertising...

At first, I was scared that I didn't have any income rolling in... but looking back... I made the best decision I've ever made! There's no turning back now!

Cheers to the future! =D

Congrats Jasper! Sounds like you're well on your way!

I'm in a similar position...I just haven't had that "argument" yet to push me over the edge :)

I'm making a few hundred a month with affiliate marketing, but I know deep down I could do much more if I had the time to spend on my sites. I hate going in to work each morning and I love my affiliate business, so it's just a matter of time. In September, I will have 20 years in with my company, (provided I last that long). I'm thinking that might be the milestone I'm looking for to take the leap?

Keep after it and I know you will do well!

Chris

Right On Jasper!!

First, a big congratulations!

Second, and even more inspirational to me personally, is your post is not followed by a link, to a $47.00 e-book, that will show me exactly, how with no computer skills, or web site, that I can do the same thing . LOL

Sometimes it gets really hard to keep the dream alive when the cost of failure becomes more complicated than just returning to a JOB. (a predicament I now find myself in)

The BIP could not have come at a better time for me! And Jasper, posts like yours are highly motivational!

Keep on Keep'in on brother!!

I think the best thing has worked for me is persistence... I've read quit a bit of IM books and videos all claiming to be easy solutions to making thousands of dollars online... So far the only things that's actually been working is experimentation and testing different things.. It seems that in this business, you have to be willing to try different angles to make things work.

I'm sure the super affiliates out there have methods that are probably not even mentioned or talked about.

Most of the successful affiliate stories I read involve their activity at the one-year anniversary. My one year anniversary is coming up in a few months so I hope I can be a super affiliate too.
