It's also a niche that is FILLED with lots of CRAP...
Stuff that does NOT work.
So, unless you have personally tried and succeeded
with any weight loss product, it would be challenging
to succeed in. Kinda hard to promote something that
you have no first hand experience with - or at least, real testimontials from
people who have succeeded with.
I look at some of the weight loss/weight training equipment that is on TV in
infomercials. They often LOOK great. The first thing I do is Google them and
read the reviews from people who have actually paid their bucks and tried it
out. Have not found one yet that has had good reviews.
I think that, getting involved with any product/service that we have no experience
with or use for or passion about is rather an empty proposition. I know I'd not be
excited about promoting it... just to make money?
That's my two cents worth Karen

My problem is, my passions are not for any consumer goods and I am not a big shopper. I buy what I need, nothing more, nothing less.
My passions are for things like news, politics, etc, etc....but how do you set up an affiliate site for things like those?
THe only other passion I can think of would be detox foods, drinks etc because I think the ennvironment is full of dangerous chemicals, but I'm sure there's way too much competition in that niche.
I see alot of guys here selling electronic goods, but I really have no interest in that. I think having passion for a product is good, but in the abscense of that, I'll just have to settle and sell something I may not really be interested in, but one that will bring me money!
This is definitely a niche that has a lot of potential to make money but extremely hard to crack. I have made some money here but it's very very crowded. Karen is right in saying that a good deal of these offers are bogus. My point is that it will be a challenge to convert people with the plethora of products and affiliates promoting them. The Summer 2008 issue of Search Marketing Standard reports that 64% of all consumers read buyer reviews before making a purchase. If you do decide to enter this niche you should definitely try a review site. I might also recommend looking for sub-niches because there are so many different products.
