Dreamweaver vs Expression Web

I tried both programs and ended up going with Dreamweaver which was more expensive than Expression Web.

I took a lot of tutorials and read a book on Expression Web. but after using it for more than 2 months on a free trial, I found it difficult to figure out. In all, I wasted a lot of time learning Expression Web.

Dreamweaver CS3 is easy to learn. It is good for both beginners and professionals. When I bought it, Adobe gave me a free 30 day trial with lynda.com after I registered the program and I learned a lot from that website.

Both programs have free trials. Expression Web will let you download it and use it for 90 days. Adobe Dreamweaver gives you a 30 day free trial.

I don't know much about Expression Web, but since it's predecessor was FrontPage, I don't have high hopes for it. I think you made a wise decision to go with CS3

As the old saying goes, 'You get what you pay for!'

Buying Dreamweaver...

Sometimes you can buy older versions of Dreamweaver (MX, DW8, etc.) on Ebay and save quite a bit. But, they are scarce, so if you see one, snag it. And make sure that it's legal if you are paying for it.
