Just Can't Think of Anything to sell

I've thought and thought and thought about what I can sell and I just can't come up with anything viable.

Either there's too much competition (which pushes the cost per click price way too high)

Or there's no demand for a product I'm thinking of....

Another big problem is trying to figure all the metrics that would tell you whether you have a good niche or not.

is 100 searches a day a good indication of a profitable niche?

Is there a cutoff number I should be looking for? above 1,000? above 2,000?

How are you people figuring out what on earth to sell!
