Adding CJ Advertiser Links To Website

Hello,
CJ says you can't alter any part of the text link and still receive commissions.
Jeremy has a CJ link for Adobe Contribute for the Black Ink Project.
How do you get the commission without having to put the entire sentence they give you for the link?
I'm also asking because I have altered one to use only the product link and my own link text. If I'm not going to get paid, I need to change this. The impressions and clicks are showing up but no purchases.
For the above, will I need to set up a go.php file with all of the info in it that simply redirects to the Adobe site with my CJ info?
Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff To ease your mind
Hi Jeff
To ease your mind until Jeremy comes along and confirms this (hopefully), I know you can alter the text, or sentence part of a CJ link and get paid.
Yes, I had to prove this to myself by purchasing through a link I altered. But I know their is a greater explanation out there somewhere, but don't panic for now.

Go'in Deep This Time Up!!
The only part of the CJ code
The only part of the CJ code that is responsible for tracking is the link itself.
Jeff: I have not had any
Jeff:
I have not had any problem (that I know of) slicing up links from the banners they provide.
Example:
I just hightlight this part: http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-1941000-10538076 - and then turn it into a hyperlink. The first numbers would be your PID and the second set is the specific offer (destination page) you are promoting.
You can make any sentence you want (related to the product) that way.

No problems here
Jeff,
Just like Ryan and Jeremy I too have not had any problems modifying the decription of the link text.
As long as the description text is not misrepresenting the merchant you should not have any problems.

What about website tracking?
Along these same lines, you know how when you grab the HTML code for a link, CJ gives you a drop down menu asking which website you want the link to be for?
I promote multiple different websites and when I was first setting up my CJ affiliate links, I created a few of the links for the wrong site.
So I'm promoting product X, and instead of creating the link for mysite1.com, I created the link for mysite2.com.
I own both sites, and I'm getting traffic through the links. Other than skewing my reports a bit, does creating a link for the wrong site affect CJ's ability to track sales?
I just ask because there's a lot of product links, and at this point I'm not sure which have the wrong site (it's just a few of the first one's I did). It'd be a pain in the butt to go back and change all those links if I don't have to.
Thanks.
I would suggest calling cj
I would suggest calling cj directly to get the official answer on this.
My only concern would be if the advertiser X sees a sale comming from your link but then goes to your "assigned" website and doesn't see the advertisement at all. It could cause suspicion and maybe a reversal on the commission.
Good question and one I've wondered myself.

Thanks Ryan, That's a good
Thanks Ryan,
That's a good point about the possible reversed commission. I will check with CJ on that.
