The Hero Shot

What are peoples thoughts on using merchants banners as a hero shot if you think it fits neatly in you landing page design. Or is it best to go for a actual hero shot. Maybe someone has tested this theory and can share it with us.

Just that I have built a page that is currently housing the banner and it doens't look out of place in context with the header etc?
