Using Fireworks, Dreamweaver and CMS

Hi there,
I use Wordpress for a while as a CMS, but now I'd like to build a site where I can have landing pages, blog, forum, etc..., that means I need to combine built pages with a blog and forum. My question is, why Jeremy or others build separate pages using dreamweaver and Fireworks when they can just use CMS?
Can Fireworks do all graphic effects that photoshop has?
Thanks,
Vadim

Sometimes it can be
Sometimes it can be difficult to customize landing pages and other specialized content with a CMS. It can always be done, but sometimes it's just as easy to code the page on your own.
Re: Fireworks vs. Photoshop - I think Fireworks is 10x better for web graphics. Photoshop is very powerful, but doesn't have some of the web-specific features that Fireworks does.
No need for a CMS
Hey, I think there is no need to use a CMS for a micropage. You will be a lot faster if you just make a HTML template in your prefered editor like dreamweaver, notepad++ or whatever. This can be easly changed in colors with CSS ;)
As for webgraphics, if you're new to photoshop you better use something else for your webgraphics like fireworks (what Jeremy mentioned). I am a pretty advanced photoshop user so I can do webgraphics really fast (but needed time to learn photoshop, and still need). Good luck with your projects :)

Generally, but not always, CMS software takes time to learn and, if you're familiar with using Dreamweaver to create sites, in order to create sites quickly, that's what you'll continue to do.

Yes and No. I'm not an expert in the use of either application but I like the way Fireworks handles vector based images and the way it renders text. I'd suggest using it in preference to Photoshop for web graphics.
