Some newb questions

Hello
I'm about to launch my ever so successful affiliate career :) but i have a few question.
I'm sorry if i may be repeating things that have been asked a few times before, I've tried looking for info on these sepcific issues, here and in other affiliate forums, but with not much success.. so...
1. This is about estimating how many queries a month should I expect for certain product in order for it to have commercial potential.
Lets say i sum up all the click values of a certain product and i see there are about 500 queries a month total for this general product theme, is that enouph?
Becous estimate something along the lines (and correct me if i'm wrong here) of:
500 queries => about 200 of those will click ads => about 80 of those will get to me (assumin this is not so competitive theme) => assumin a wooping 5% Conversion rate i will see about... 4 sales a month.... That doe'snt seem very worthwhile going after....
Is there a certain number of monthly astimated queries that under it you won't bother looking into the product?
assuming a refferal commision of about 15 - 20$ each here, if it's relevant.
2. I am about to buy a general domain and on it procude several small sites dedicated each to a totally different theme of products. Is that going to be a problem for QS?
Should i be aware of anything before going ahead?
Maybe it is advised to buy separate domain for each site?
Thanks a lot for helping out, I know it probablly feels like being a broken records sometimes :)

I saw some supposedly
I saw some supposedly reliable data a couple weeks back that said 80% of clicks go to organic listing and only 20% go to paid listings (wish I could remember where I read that but I don't...).
Anyway, if that's accurate, count on 100 clicks on paid listings out of 500 searches.
So.... anyone has any kind
So.... anyone has any kind of a guidline regarding how many queries are considered proper commercial potential?
I think you're asking for
I think you're asking for the last number first. Here's what I mean
In Niche 1, let's say 500 searches for your offer = 5 sales per day.
Each sale costs $10 per conversion.
Each sale pays a $11 commission.
500 searches per day equals a profit of $5.00.
In Niche 2, let's say 500 searches for your offer = just 3 sales per day.
Each sale costs $20 per conversion.
Each sales pays a $120.00 commission.
500 searches per day equals a profit of $300.00.
I don't know about you, but Niche 1 isn't worth my time while Niche 2 is even though they both have the exact same number of daily searches.
It is just a fact that certain offers in certain niches will convert far better than other offers in other niches. Also, the cost per conversion will vary widely -- as will the commissions (some offers pay $1.25 while others pay $55.00, etc.).
More to the point, in both example niches above, the number of searches only became relevant AFTER you knew the other numbers.
That's why I said "You're asking for the last number first". I hope that makes sense.
Jeremy may have another opinion though :)
Hmmm, i see... Thanks for
Hmmm, i see...
Thanks for the answer, I guess that like many other issues in this kind of work it's the ultimate answer of "depends" :)
I just thought maybe there's a general guildline of something like:
If commissiond are around 20$ I don't bother with less then X dailies
and if commissiond are around 100$ I don't bother with less then y dailies
But yeah... thanks anyways :)
