Fireworks for webgraphics QA

Work Plus Faith's picture

If I were to learn Fireworks, could I just use that to create web graphics or would I still need to use a tool like photoshop (elements)?

Thanks,

I guess its a matter of choice, I find Photoshop elements easy to use for creating web graphics, and I have been trialling Fireworks which is good and can also do the job. At the end of day its a matter of what works for you.

I think Fireworks looks like a great product for doing what Jeremy showcased on constructing a landing page, especially with the integration with web tools like dream weaver.

I think at this time I need to watch the budget line, so I'll stick to Photoshop elements to tweak my photos.

Thanks for the reply.

While PS Elements doesn't cost much, I figured best to save money IF Fireworks is just as easy to create web graphics with.

Hello I have had Elements

Hello

I have had Elements for quite some time, and with a bit of searching over the web, can usually figure out how to do many things with this little program that are only taught in the high dollar versions of photoshop.

Designing a web page with elements is also possible, however the project stops when it comes to slicing up the design and exporting into Dreamweaver. At least I can't figure out how to do it, and Adobe says it isn't possible. (They claim several things I've learned to do in elements aren't possible though).

At my favorite place to buy software via my sons student discount, I have found Fireworks CS3 for $99 bucks.

The more I read about Fireworks, I see mentioned how easily in works in conjunction with, say photoshop CS3 for example.

What I don't understand is, why would you need to use both programs together?

Would learning Fireworks still leave one with big limitations that can only be fulfilled using higher dollar versions of Photoshop?

It seems Fireworks would be the ideal choice for someone on a tight budget (ME). But I just want to be sure.

Thanks in advance.

Barry
