Anyone able to find topics on QYDJ?

Submitted by chopper on Fri, 06/13/2008 - 15:35.
I'm having difficulty finding the important (to me) topics on QYDJ. I find something interesting or important and then can't find it later when I need it. I've tried the search function with limited success. For example, when I search on my user name it returns only four listings. I've posted a number of times and responded to posts a number of times. Shouldn't the search function return all of my posts? Also, I don't believe the search is looking at URLs because I can't find a reference to drikatruu even though I know it's here somewhere.
Anyone have any suggestions on searching QYDJ?
Thanks!

Hi Chopper I feel your pain,
Hi Chopper
I feel your pain, but if you have commented on any of the threads in question, you can go into your account and click on "track" and at least you will see all your comments, then maybe this will trigger your memory and enable you to find what you were looking for.
For whatever its worth, I made a notepad and just copy the address bar and make a notation behind it to hopefully help me remember things I feel are important at a later date.
Good Luck

Thanks for the tip. I guess I hadn't looked at the Track tab recently. It definitely helps.

Thanks for the feedback
Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll take a look at our current search and see what we can do to improve it.

Quick note - you can do a user search by performing an advanced search. You can then click on the track tab to find the most recent posts and comments you have made.
I'll see if I can add the advanced search to the default search box.
I may also look into using Google Site Search if Drupal's built-in search isn't getting the job done.
Can you give me an example of a query you're having a hard time with so I can see how you're interacting with the search box?
Thanks!

Wow thanks Jeremy!
While I've used the "track" feature, backed up by a personal memory jogging cheat sheet, I just searched on several topics if interest, and BAM!
There they were, and in many cases, dozens of relevant choices, many of which I wasn't aware even existed as they were older posts, yet still highly relevant!
Keep up the good work!
Glad to see you also whacked that spammer that sneaked in here.
Thanks again, hear ya tomorrow!

THANK YOU!
My computer crashed couple weeks ago so I lost most of my memory links of the important projects I needed to follow. Thanks for all the tips and added the Advance Search option. You are making our jobs a lot easier.
