It's been a long time since my last blog post, but I have a good excuse :)
The Black Ink Project
For the past 8 weeks I have been working tirelessly on the Black Ink Project. We just completed the final webinar last Friday.
The Black Ink Project consisted of 20 one-hour training sessions designed to help aspiring entrepreneurs get up and running with an affiliate business. We covered everything from planning and preparation to optimizing and growing your business. For a complete list of the sessions check out the schedule.
For those of you who missed the live training, we've recorded and archived all of the sessions. To access the recordings simply register with your e-mail address. The course is 100% free and contains over 20 hours of top quality affiliate training delivered by me and some of the top experts in the business.
If you've been following the course you probably already know that I have some bonus sessions planned and a few loose ends I need to tie up. I will be sending an e-mail out to Black Ink members later today with more information.
Optimize My Site
In my spare time (normally reserved for sleep) I've been quietly working in the background on version 2 of Optimize My Site - conversion tracking software for affiliates.
Optimize My Site is the application that I developed a few years ago to help me understand what keywords were making money and which ones were losing money. The software has helped me take hundreds of my own campaigns from breaking even and losing money, to generating 100% + ROI and hundreds of thousands of dollars in extra profits.
Last year when I released PPC Classroom with Anik Singal, we bundled version 1.0 of Optimize My Site with the course (as a bonus). Taking my proprietary software, which was designed for my own workflow and server environment, and converting it to a commercially viable product was quite a challenge.
The first iteration of the commercial software was rough around the edges, but after collecting valuable feedback from hundreds of different PPC users we were able to make major improvements to Optimize My Site.

A: By telling you exactly how much money you're making (or losing) on each keyword and ad group. Armed with this information, you can adjust your PPC bids up or down based on your profit goals, and remove unprofitable keywords from your campaign.
Q: What affiliate networks does Optimize My Site track?
A: We can support any network that allows you to download your stats to a text file (95% of networks). We have built-in support for Commission Junction, Linkshare, Performics, Share a Sale, ClickBank, Azoogle, and TradeDoubler. You can easily add other networks by uploading a sample commission report.
Q: What paid search engines does Optimize My Site track?
A: Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft.
Q: Is the software hosted on my website?
A: Yes.
Q: Can I install the software on multiple websites?
A: Yes - there are no limits on the number of websites you can install Optimize My Site on.
Q: Can I use a single domain to track all of my websites?
A: Yes
Q: How difficult is it to install Optimize My Site on my website?
A: It only takes 5 minutes, and is about the same difficulty as installing a WordPress blog. We also offer free support for those who need assistance.

Q: When will the software be released?

I will be launching the affiliate program in August. I want to sell the software to my own customers before opening up the doors to the rest of the world. I learned last year that having 50 JV partners promote your product at the same time can create a lot of problems if you're not ready for it. This year I'll be ready ;)

I have been anxiously waiting to hear about this, sounds like its a good alternative to prosper202 which i currently use. Although the guys at prosper202 are great, specially wes, he answers all questions and seems like a great guy but their software doesn't provide info from adwords etc, you have to manually set bid prices. I have been waiting to hear about how accurate this is! Thanks for the update Jeremy

Am I reading this correctly?
I joined PPCC on launch day BEFORE payments were even accepted. And I must say, Anik's presence had nothing to do with that decision.
Do to some hard knock, real life situations, I was never able to actually implement the original version of OMS, and since I dropped the outrageous $50/month membership at PPCC, can't even access the original version of the software.
Does this mean I am entitled to the complimentary upgrade, even though I never downloaded the original version of OMS??

Barry - All PPC Classroom customers are grandfathered into Optimize My Site 2.0. Unfortunately, when I left PPC Classroom there wasn't very good communication about my departure, which confused a lot of members and created some administrative headaches for me.
As I stated earlier, I'm no longer involved with PPC Classroom (I left 12/1/2007). But I still want to make sure those who bought the course (while I was involved) get a free copy of OMS 2.0.
OMS 1.0 was a little rough around the edges for a number of reasons. I think you'll find the increased support level and usability of this new version reflective of a product in it's second iteration.

I fully recall the terms of PPCC, and those that did not remain loyal to the PPCC forum/members area, at $50/mo. were not entitled to any OMS upgrades! Only patches, or bug fixes if you will.
I need to just take a step back and let your honesty and integrity soak in for a bit.
You are truly a rare individual. I can only hope to one day personally thank you, shake your hand, maybe even buy you a drink -LOL.

webex Meet Me Now
Jeremy, If I sign up for the free trial of the Webex software, am I incorrect in assuming that my 14 day trial period will begin 10 days prior to the beginning of your program?
While I can a realize the benefit of perusing the product for a week prior to even the launch or a student's website, that only gives that student 3 days of usage of the product to promote it prior to having to having to pay 39-49 US to continue with the practical aspects of your seminar.
While this may not be a deal breaking number, it is rather inconsistent with your statement that you would not require your students to buy a copy of "meet me now" unless they wanted to. A truly win-win-win scenario would be to allow your students a 30 day free trial. This would do a couple of different things:
1. A 30 day free trial would cement in the minds of your follows (which I am) that your attitude and your philosophy of financial success does not make you into a greedy sociopath.
It would also take the pressure off the student with limited resources ( we all have limited resources or else we wouldn't be "tryin to make money on the internet") to come up with $$ to invest in a fine product, I am sure, but one that we may never use. Unless we do purchase it and fee compelled to do so.
In one scenario, a 30 day free trial will thoroughly instruct the strudents in to the ins and outs of "meet Me now"
Who wins with the 30 day free use of webx? Jeremy Does when its all said and done because we have all signed up under his affiliate number. Webex Wins because, not only has 1200 students built websites, some pretty high grade, and others fairly low gradem but all have promoted the benefits of webex to their constituents; And then the students who will be much more interested in Webex after seeing the varied applications of their programs and also their complete line of products. I think that that would be a win3

You bring up a good point about the 30 day trial. This is already something that I explored with WebEx. I also considered moving the training up to Monday June 30, but with the impending release of Optimize My Site, and the shortened work week (due to the 4th of July) this alternative wouldn't work either.
The good news is that you have 10 full days to learn and use the tool before Black Ink 2.0 even starts. Applying what you learned from lessons 1-4 (Black Ink 1.0) will give you a rolling start. You will also have the opportunity to explore the software in more depth during the first 3 days of Black Ink 2.
Rest assured - I'll make sure we front load as much product-specific training at the beginning of the webinar so that you have ample time to evaluate the product before your trial runs out.

Clarification about WebEx and Optimize My Site
Hi Jeremy,
1. Last night I signed up for the WebEx 14 day trial, and all I got from them was a confirmation email with the subject "Welcome To WebEx MeetMeNow". Is that what you meant by "receipt"? I forwarded you their email last night; not sure if you got it or not.
2. Regardless of whether or not we continue with the WebEx MeetMeNow subscription, will we still be able to continue using Optimize My Site and get updates as well?

Slowly figuring it out and testing
I have a copy of 2.0 and have had it installed for some time. I went off on another tangent and just left it alone for awhile. As my knowledge grows, my understanding for the necessity for tracking efforts has risen as a high priority. Without the means to track and analyze data, you are simply flying alone blind by the seat of your pants. We are all busy busy in our lives. Learning to use and implement a tool such as this is one of many "tricks" to Optimize ones efforts with their online business, making the best application of time and investment into the long term growth of the business.
