When Would You Dump A Program?

Hi to everyone. I am new to affiliate marketing. During August of 2007 I started creating a website and joined some of the more notable affiliate networks like cj, and linkshare, etc. I realy feel fortunate to have stumbled upon this website. I even joined TBIB. I am going through the training now. My big question is - When Do You Scrap an Idea Or campaign. I have through google and yahoo ppc driven alot of traffic and only received 1 sign-up. Happy to have that, but I spent more than I received. The program pays out $35 per lead through CJ. Should I scrap it and start over with a new niche?
Thanks For Your Feedback.

That's a really good question and the answer is "it depends." Certain niches are harder to convert than others. Some require you to spend more time and money marketing before a consumer makes a purchase. On the other hand there are niches that convert very easily. Sometimes the traffic is what's the problem, sometimes it's the offer, or the landing pages. You have to make sure you have given each offer a fair chance before you dump it. The flip side of that is don't be afraid to dump it once you realize the offer is not going anywhere. I hope this helps.

As I learn more I realize that my problem appears to be a little bit of both the landing page and the traffic. I have changed the ad and currently split testing it now. I have cleaned up my landing page and will see if it starts converting. So far I have noticed that almost 25% of the traffic going to my landing page is clicking on the ad. This seems good. But no conversions yet. I even changed my ad and included credit card required. This helped to increase the amount of people actually interested in the service. I'll give it a little more time. One day I hope I find a good niche. I will not give up!!! Thanks everyone for your support.
