Question About Daily Campaign Budget in Adwords

spronline's picture

Hello All,

I created a new google adwords account and a new campaign, with a dozen adgroups. Most of my keywords under the respective adgroups have a quality score of "Great" while a couple of them have a quality score of "OK". I've been running this campaign since the past six weeks. I've set my campaign's daily budget to $25. However, all my ads stop appearing on search as well as content network - after reaching a daily limit of $10.

I know that google might be setting up a default spend limit on new accounts. I've already spent over $450 by now and my ads still stop at $10/day.

Can anyone please tell me if there is a way to uplift this daily limit. Due to this - I have to show my ads only during specific times of a day - where I've identified the conversions to be maximum. However, I'm still loosing on a good amount of clicks and conversions, because of this low daily spend limit. Does anyone know how long does it take for google to lift up such a limit?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,
-Sid

Do you end up for the whole

Do you end up for the whole day only spending $10 or does it eventually spend it all for you?

They do have to throttle your spend a bit because of the possibility of getting a influx of clicks and going way over before being able to stop it.

What I typically do (and it may not be right, Jeremy can say better) is if I have a $1000/budget for the month, typically if would be about $33/day. But what I do is tease it a bit to $50 a day for like 2 weeks and then back off a bit below the $33 until I approach the $1000/month spend limit. In the meantime I'm hoping that my affiliate manger can see that I'm bring in some consistent traffic and will change my pay period to every 2 weeks rather than monthly.

It's worked for me for a few months and might work for you to get over that "too low" daily budget problem.

good luck Sid.

Hey Ken, Thanks for a prompt

Hey Ken,

Thanks for a prompt response. I have tried changing the daily budget by increasing it as well. However, no matter what I set the daily budget to; google stops showing ads as soon as the total click costs reach $10 for that day. Sometimes, that happens within 7-8 hours of a day; which leaves my ads not showing for the whole evening and night.

When I check the status of my ads - it says that my ads are not showing because I have reached the daily limit. Even if I set my daily limit to $70/day (which I have tried) - it still stops showing ads as soon as the click costs reach $10. Due to this problem, I can't even ad more adgroups/keywords to my campaign since it will only deplete the daily balance even more faster.

I tried creating a new campaign assuming that google might be setting this $10/day limit on each campaign for my account. But after creating another campaign; it started calculating the total click costs from both campaigns and stopped both campaigns as soon as the total reached $10.

Can you please let me know if there is any work around for this?

Thanks,
-Sid

Do you have a campaign wide

Do you have a campaign wide budget set or indiv ad groups budgeted?

I would give a call to support and ask or launch one of those chats to ask questions.

I have an account rep at work I ask a lot of my questions to that I can get a very thorough answer and researched pretty well too.

Although that's what they give you when you spend $80k/month
