Having broad, exact and phrase for the same keyword limit your impression

i'm not sure if this is true or not, but I have been running my new campaign for a week now. And having my keyword in all three format as Amit has suggested. However, I have very limited impression for some high traffic keyword. And the broad and phrase keywords all says the the ad is only triggered by the [exact] keyword. So they don't get much impression or not any.

Is this the real reason that's stopping me from getting some traffic or if anyone else have some idea?

P.S Most of my keyword quality scores are great and some are ok. But they are all active and having ad position between 1-8....yet they still don't get impressions..........

If you provide an example of the keywords you might get better feedback as it's hard to understand what the problem might be.

match types

Lets clarify what each function match type does with an example: "free samples"

The exact match is when someone types in exactly:
free samples

Phrase match is when someone types in:
i want to get free samples now

Broad match is when someone types in:
get the best sample shampoo for totally free

From experience, I find that broad match is usually the cheapest because its the least effective, whereas exact is almost always more expensive, but more effective in converting.

To put it into perspective, for a two week span on this account I'm managing, the exact match for the most high volume kwds has a 63% more impressions and 81% more clicks than the broad match.

I think its working as intended, it just seems a little more expensive now because most of your ads are being served as exact.

And if its telling you that most of the volume comes from the exact match, that's probably because that's where most of the volume is. that's explains why you're not getting much broad or phrase matches served up as much as before. Also keep in mind that exact matches are usually more competitive so your position may have lowered. In this case you may want to compare your average positions against past campaigns and the 3 match types.
