Hey Jeremy,

I've been off the site for a few days, so I'm not sure if you've set up a forum specifically for OMS or not, so I figured I would post this here and see if anyone had experienced the same things.

In the user guide, it says when you download Yahoo reports, there will be 2 files; a summary and a full report and the full report will always be the one with a larger file size.

My experience has been completely the opposite and I'm not sure why, because what you said makes more sense than what is actually happening. When I download and unload the 2 reports from Yahoo, I open then in Excel and one of them only has about 10 or 20 rows and the other one usually has a few thousand rows. I'm assuming the one with a few thousand rows is the full report, but it always has a smaller file size.

Now for my suggestion.

Unless I'm missing something, it looks like Yahoo not only doesn't have a date column in their reports, but they also don't let you choose which campaign you want a report for and it gives you a report for all your campaigns. This means if I only have one campaign running for the website I'm looking at and I'm running 50 campaigns on Yahoo, then the report has 49 campaigns worth of data that's just getting in the way.

It would be nice when you're running an Ad Group ROI and a keyword ROI report, if you could choose to look at just one campaign and get rid of all the other data, or maybe OMS could only show you data from campaigns that have been uploaded to OMS for that website. It would still show you the ROI for all the Ad Groups, but only for the selected campaign or campaigns. It's possible that feature is already built into OMS and maybe I just need to submit a support ticket.

Thanks
James

Hi James,

I think I can answer your questions for you.

Unfortunately, Yahoo DOES NOT allow you to run reports for specific campaigns. This is what I do to only upload the Yahoo campaigns costs I want.

1) Run a keyword performance report in Yahoo, then sort the data by campaign. All you have to do is click the campaign link and it will sort the report by campaign.

2) I then export the campaign as csv and extract the file. I open the YSM-Keyword-Performance (not the YSM-Performance-By-Date) file in NOTEPAD. The reason I open the file in notepad is because I found if I open in Excel it can corrupt the file and I have a hard time uploading to OMS.

3) With the YSM-Keyword-Performance file open in notepad I delete the campaigns I do not want to upload to OMS. Since I sorted the campaigns before I exported from Yahoo, deleting campaigns I do not want is a fairly quick process.

4) When I am done I save the file and then upload to OMS.

It only takes a couple of minutes to do this. Hopefully, Yahoo will add the feature to export keyword costs by specific campaigns in the future.

When you upload Yahoo Keyword Costs you have to enter the date of the report. OMS can't grab it from the reports.

I have talked with Jeremy regarding filtering campaigns when you run an Adgroup ROI and Keyword ROI report. He told me this was an oversight and the feature should be available when OMS version 2.1 is ready.

Hey Jeff,

I was thinking about opening the file and deleting all the campaigns I didn't need, but was worried it would mess up the results, so thanks for the confirmation that it's ok.
