This is one of the biggest problems with 2nd tier networks. I recommend that you stick with the big 3 (Google, Yahoo, and MSN). You may have success with a 2nd tier player, but you are much more susceptible to fraudulent clicks.

Definitely stay away, I have first hand experience with Kanoodle. When I first started with internet marketing a few months ago I put $100 on Kanoodle to test them. I was also contacted immediately by a rep that gave me a $50 credit to test their content advertising. What a joke.

The minimum bid for content ads was 30 cents per click. The mimimum bid for a search ad was 10 cents. Immediately upon activating my account a flurry of clicks started - all resulting in not one sale.

The click fraud was so obvious, looking at my server stats I could see ten clicks on the same ad within a minute all from the same site. When you look at the sites where you are getting clicks they are nothing more than a web page full of Kanoodle ads probably connected to click farms.

After my Kanoodle account was depleted I then tried Yahoo and received two sales on the first day I ran my ads.

I tried search123.com (since they were owned by Value click), and I experienced horrible results. I had lost around $250 in about a day, with nothing to show for it.

Enhance provided way too few conversions to justify staying with them. :x
Anyone have an opinion on FindWhat and LookSmart?

I've had very bad experience with Miva too.

Lots of clicks in reporting but most of them fraud. Maybe an automated robot or something have they used. I dont know. But lost many bucks.

2nd tier search engine advertising

The biggest issue I've had with 2nd tier search engine advertising has been the obvious click fraud.
Going through my logs has shown repeated IP addresses that generate one click every 12 to 48 hours. Easy enough to find when you do a sort or find on your logs.
If you want to try 2nd tier be sure to investiagte them fully. Search your keywords through their network before purchasing and clicks. Try to find their click sources by googling parts of the search strings, although that rarely works, sometimes you get a group of sites that google has something cached on.
Keep a record of your logs and check them within 24 - 48 hpours. Any doubtful or incongruent websites that your clicks came from complain about loudly.
It's really just so easy to open a clickfarm as a second tier advertiser with freely available php scripts... get a Google publisher account and fleece those advertisers with crapola content.... ugh.
PPC makes my skin crawl and I only use them with special, noteworthy programs that I have the time to monitor closely.
Even one of the BIG 3 has started to let me down with bad publishers for my keyword text ads and I stopped advertising as heavily with them. I'm still waiting for a response. No one cares if you're gold or not anymore.
