1st Timer seeking some positive feedback

I am very new to this. I am 28 years old & a manager at Comcast full time & I hate it. lol
Greatful I have a job indeed, but just the fact that its my only source of income bugs me.
I have been doing alot of research the last few weeks, bought a few ebooks here & there.
I have a general idea of how this works, far as making a site or multiple sites and getting
a high level of traffic to that page, traffic which specifically wants the product on that page,
and also some affiliate sites on there as well. My question is this. By reading High Performance Affiliate Marketing
then watching the videos on adwords, adcenter & yahoo search marketing, is that the best way to start?
Im just looking for someone who is successful at this to lend me with some good start up tips.
I know every person will succeed or fail differently & just because someone makess 5k-15k a
month does not gurantee you will, but I truely believe that this will be a positive thing for me.
The internet is a global business with more buyers than sellers. So if anyone has some advice for me,
I would be more than willing to hear & take heed. Success stories are also motivational, If I hear someone
say they made this amount of $$$$, it makes me think that goals are really reachable on here.

There are success stories all over the net regarding affiliate marketing and about 5 other Strong forums dedicated soley to the subject with thousands of members. Stick with Jeremy's book and instructions not to buy any more hyped up ebooks.
Here's a hot tip - you know TONS about Comcast and Comcast has a really good payout for their affiliate program - or at least the last time I checked. Take the knowledge you have about Comcast vs. Competitors and for starters make a comparison site pointing out the pros/cons. Sure you will have some competition but you have an upper hand given your current position.
Jeremy's book + his videos + research market + research and develop chosen niche product keyword list + direct link (if possible to test) + free credits for new accounts w/ google, yahoo, and msn + Reinvest ALL profits to grow one campaign until it reaches it's max potential + Rinse & Repeat.
The fact that your only 28 and already here learning these things and have a basic grasp of affiliate marketing is a HUGE Plus in your favor!! Keep moving forward and don't look back!
Ryan is on the money, Stick with what you know! Comcast is a huge company and I am sure you could do well as an affiliate promoting their products.
Good luck.
