Should I put my web logo and name on landing page?

Hi All,

I am trying to design a website that will promote a single software product. The site will contain a landing page (also the index page), privacy policy, contact-us and resource page that will provide link to some unique content.

I am in a dilemma about the landing page and the rest of the site’s page design. I am especially concerned about whether to use my website name on the landing page header or not.

Also, if I do not use my web name on the landing page then how best to incorporate them in the subsequent pages.

I would like to hear your experience and advise on this issue. Also, can you help me find some good single product promotion website for inspiration.

Thanks in advance.
Claudia

I do basically the same thing as you described, create a site with the index page being the landing page. I create a header with my site name, a tag line and a image and this header appears on every page of the site. If you are gonna rock the index as your landing page you should definitly have your logo/image etc on it as it will be the basis for the whole site IMO.

However, I would say build it out and then test it, find what works best through testing. Also if you set it up this way, watch jeremy's bip2 video on customizing a blog to go with your site. The last 2 sites I have built I have done this for the content and it works plus its really neat to see a blog that looks identical to your site. The biggest thing to keep in mind when going this route is content, both sites I tested this way started with 10 articles via the blog.

You can use this model to profit, however its not gonna be a full on content site, more like a landing site with decent content.

Cheers,

-Scott
