Isn't MSN supposed to be cheaper?

I've put some of my successful campaigns from AdWords into MSN. I thought that MSN would be less competitive than Google. The strange thing is that I have to spend more to get the same or better positions that I had in AdWords. My overall position in MSN is 22, while in Google it's at 8.

Is there any way to optimize this (decrease my costs and have a better position)?

The reason I've found MSN to be cheaper is because for whatever reason, my CTR on MSN is astronomical compared to Google. Maybe it's the format of their SERPs. Anyway, the high CTR is (I assume) giving me great position on most of my keywords. You might want to give your bid prices an initial boost to get your ads in the top ten. If your ad is generating decent CTR, you might be able to lower your bids and maintain good positioning.

I don't have enough experience with PPC to tell if certain markets are more competitive on certain search engines, but that could be a factor.

This phenomenon may be occurring because the ROI is better for those advertisers on MSN...
