Web Skills Guidance from above

Well I've taught myself HTML and CSS, and I'm using Frontapage 2003. But hey I'm a little lost!

There has got to be a easier way to build my pages. Currently doing some clunky work by using word to merge fields from a database then I'm cutting and pasting into a new HTML page. I have a database with all the URLS to the products I'm wanting to push and the database has descriptions etc etc for the products.

Put it simply I want vistors to visit my site, then click on the link, then the page opens and pulls in the content from the database etc.. help where should I go. Should I be learning some new or is there something in frontpage I can use eager to learn and read. I've been looking at the source code to some sites that do what I want but I can't work it out

By the way I spent two years working as a marketing analyst and I'm skilled up in SQL can I use these skills for what I wanting to achieve.

Welcome any advice

By the way Australia won the ashes! Thought I'd rub that in to any poms reading the forum.

Your trying to build a database driven site using a product feed?

I used to use a blog to post products from an xml product feed automatically, but I haven't done it for a while.

It sounds like you are trying to use a datafeed. Try these resources:

3rd Party Solutions for Creating Catalog Sites with Datafeeds
http://www.datafeedfile.com/
http://www.goldencan.com/
http://www.fourthworld.com/

Here is a thread on implementing datafeeds from abestweb.com:

I personally use Wordpress and a datafeed plugin that I bought.
