Good PHP Books

I have finally found some good books on helping me understand PHP a little better. I know some members have asked for some good books on PHP so I thought I would list them here.

The first book I would start out with is "Codin' for the Web" by Charles Wyke-Smith. This book is targeted for designers who are not programmers by nature so everything is explained very thoroughly with clear examples. The best thing about this book is that all examples and screen shots are large so you can see exactly what the author is talking about. Also, the book is in color so the code examples are very easy to follow because of all the colors available to differentiate code.

After finishing that book I would recommend "PHP Solutions - Dynamic Web Designs Made Easy" by David Powers. This book starts at the basics and builds on your knowledge as you go along. The author does a good job of explaining the hows and whys of what you are doing which I find very helpful.

Hope this helps everyone. I've spent my Xmas vacation improving my web skills to be ready to attack the new year more efficiently.

Thanks for the advice Michael! PHP is an area that I would like to improve in this year. I see people do some really cool stuff with PHP and I can't help but think it would be a huge benefit to understand it a little better.
I'll check into these books.

Happy New Year!
