SEO Blog Network

I am getting a bit of interest over at another board, so I thought I would float the idea here too.

I am thinking of getting together a bunch of people with blogs. Each person would be required to have a hosted blog (no free ones) and to allow everyone else in the group to post on their blog.

This would basically be a small network of "general" themed blogs for the purposes of SEO.

So when you launch a new site, you can log into as many of the blogs on this network as you like and write a new article for each, with links to your site.

Will probably aim to get about 20 blogs together.

PM me if you're interested.

I've thought about something similar. I've noticed tons of blog networks popping up...but I still think that the flow of a traditional content site is better...IMO. From a sales point of view, having to many links to click on dilutes conversions. You can still build up rapport with viewers without blogs....but still use the blogs software framework to get some of its benefits.

I'm currently working on a content network....versus a blog network.

I must be the worst writer in the world, cos every other forum I have floated this idea on, people confuse what I mean. :(

The blog itself would not be for monetization - I will c&p my "long explanation" of what I mean:

-----------

I do some keyword research and decide I want to enter the "Rugby Socks" niche. I build a site at cheaprugbysocks.com and one of my pages happens to be cheaprugbysocks.com/woolrugbysocks.htm

I optimise that page for the term "wool rugby socks" with titles, meta etc.

Then I need links.

I write up 20 original articles about rugby socks and within each of those articles is a bunch of links to rugby sites including cheap rugby socks and wool rugby socks that point to my site. By having my link on a bunch of sites in the blog network (which are all on different IPs with different DNS settings - important for SEO apparently), I should be able to get my site and my wool rugby socks page to rank well in the search engines for the search terms "wool rugby socks" and "cheap rugby socks" with relative ease.

That is the point of the blog network.

Of course, we would all have to agree to write original and reasonable content for each others blogs and each owner would be free to monetise or do whatever with their own blog per se, but the real benefit would be the links on each others blogs.

A few people have PMed me with interest, so drop me a PM if you want to give it a go.

I think that these click rings are dangerous. I got involved in a digg, netscape and delicious ring and the only thing it does is create spam. I am really annoyed by it now, because I get like 5 to 10 emails a day and am fed up with it. You can also get in trouble by it. I read a revenews blog a while back about this and I would not recommend it.

Original content on various blogs. It is no more dangerous than submitting articles to directories.

It is also basically the same service that any whitehat SEO firm will offer, except with this you get it free (well, for the price of hosting one blog).

I may be interested in your blog network.

Can you show me some of the blogs?

Thank you.
