Finally

After reading your book last summer and recently launching a PPC campaign I've found success! I have tried PPC a few times and always lost my money. But two months into my first campaign using your techniques, I'm exploding. I am only limited right now to my monthly budget. If I had more money for PPC I would spend it to make a killing.
I am only testing a handful of words because my spending is limited. But I have made over a 100 sales this month and over a thousand in commission. I know next month will be even better as I refine my keywords. Thanks Jeremy for your forums and detail videos. It's taken a lot of time and effort but it "clicks" now. No pun intended :D

Nothing makes my day like hearing a success story. Congratulations!
Now you need to find a way to pour some more money into that campaign ;)
Best,
Jeremy

Nice job!
I feel your pain about the PPC budget. It's been my nemesis since day one. Too many ideas and potential, too little cash flow to fund them in PPC. That's starting to turn around for me now, but I still think that by mid April, right before payday, I'll probably be holding a bake sale just to pay Google and squeeze a few more dollars profit out of my PPC campaigns. It's nice that there's a lot of room for expansion and to have projects waiting in the wings, but it would be sweet to have about $50,000 to let loose on something you know is going to make a lot instead of having to wait for the returns every month. Maybe my bank has an answer...

Today your limitation may be money, but tomorrow it will be time (if it isn't already). :)
Thanks
Thanks everyone for the encouraging words. You guys are great! How long did it take until you could spend around 20k a month in PPC?
Re: Thanks
I don't remember the exact date, but I think it took me between 6-12 months before I reached this spend level- I would have to check my ppc spend from 2004 to be sure.
Also remember that I reinvested 100% of my affiliate income back into the business until I quit my day job and had to use affiliate earnings to pay the bills.

I'm on track to spend about 10-12k in April on PPC. I've been throwing every penny back into the business since I started. My first affiliate commission came on October 6 last year. If the growth trend continues and there are no major hiccups, I think the 20k mark should be hit in June.
I've kept my day job for a variety of good reasons, but a big one is that money and not time is the current limitation on my business. I've been using most of the income from my day job to fund the business as well.

retraction
Okay it almost been a year since I started this post. Unfortunately I would have to say that my niche must have gotten to competitive and dried up. I went from making several thousand per month at the peak, down to almost nothing.
I did have all my eggs in only two baskets. So I am not that surprised. However, the decline seemed to defy what we are learning here. It seems the more I segmented and drilled down my keywords the less money I made.
I'm starting over, determined to figure it out. Thanks for everyone in here for helping out and encouraging. It really helps to have these forums to discuss this complicated business.

Sorry to hear about that. Please keep us posted. I'm interested in your thoughts on how segmentation may have caused some of you problems. Seems like that would be an easy theory to test??
